Fred & Ginger is a bright, spacious coffee shop that's nailed the balance between quality and atmosphere. They're serious about their coffee, serving a house blend alongside regular guest rotations. The food's just as good, with plenty of veggie, vegan and GF options – their salads and baked goods get particularly high marks. It's busy for good reason, but the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There's room for both socializing and getting some work done.

Campbell & Syme, founded by Joe Syme in 2012 after discovering Portland’s coffee culture, grew from farmers’ markets to a café in East Finchley that became a community hub. There, Joe met Bara and Ben, who both started as volunteers and are now co-owners. The business has since expanded to a larger roastery but still stays true to its roots: roasting exceptional coffees from top producers and sharing them responsibly with customers and partners.
