A modern, friendly shop serving up their own speciality coffee beans, Hertford Coffee Lab offers a range of cakes and bakes in their industrial/natural space, including a number of vegan and gluten-free (NGCI) alternatives. An upstairs dedicated workspace (with table service and free wifi) makes this an ideal space for remote working. Their plentiful outdoor seating area is in view of a set of bike racks, perfect for those looking for a pitstop in the sun. The Specialty Blend served in-store and a wide range of single origin beans are also available to buy here

Hertford Coffee Lab, the first specialty coffee shop in the area, opened its doors in 2017, proudly serving up their very own Bionic Bull Blend, and they've been a roaring success ever since. The addition of a co-working space makes this an attractive (though occasionally crowded) option during the week. Vibrant plants give an otherwise simple space a fresh and modern feel. We love that they don't charge extra for alternative milks, a move that few independent shops have managed to make in this area, making it a key differentiator for vegans and the environmentally conscious alike. At Coffee Filtered, we're particularly fond of their oat flat white. For those feeling adventurous and craving something sweeter, try it iced with a drizzle of honeycomb syrup.
