By accessing or using Coffee Filtered ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

2. About Coffee Filtered

Coffee Filtered is operated by Coffee Filtered Limited, a UK company. We provide a platform that helps users discover independent coffee shops, check in to earn rewards, and share experiences with the coffee community.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Coffee Filtered. By using our Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. User Accounts

Account Creation

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Account Termination

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us at hello@coffeefiltered.com. We will process your request within 30 days. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we deem harmful to our Service or other users. Upon account termination, points and unredeemed rewards will be forfeited. User content may be retained in anonymized form for analytics.

5. Using Coffee Filtered

Permitted Use

You may use Coffee Filtered to:

  • Discover and learn about independent coffee shops
  • Check in to coffee shops to earn points and rewards
  • Share your thoughts and experiences about coffee shops
  • Participate in our rewards program

Prohibited Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or illegal activity
  • Create fake check-ins or manipulate the rewards system
  • Share false, misleading, or defamatory content about coffee shops
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated systems (bots) to interact with our Service
  • Reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works of our Service
  • Share your account with others

6. Rewards Program

How It Works

  • You earn points by checking in to participating coffee shops
  • Points can be redeemed for rewards as available through our platform
  • Rewards are subject to availability and may have expiration dates
  • We reserve the right to modify the rewards program at any time

Fraud Prevention

  • Fake check-ins or attempts to manipulate the system will result in point forfeiture and potential account termination
  • We use location verification to ensure legitimate check-ins
  • Suspicious activity may be investigated and acted upon

Point Expiration

  • Points do not expire as long as your account remains active.
  • Points will be forfeited upon account termination

Redemption

  • Rewards are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other rewards
  • Estimated shipping times for physical rewards: Up to 15 business days (delays outside our control may occur)
  • Refunds/exchanges subject to fulfillment partner policies

Referral Program

  • Referral bonuses subject to referred user completing qualifying actions
  • Fraudulent referrals (self-referrals, fake accounts) will result in bonus forfeiture
  • We reserve the right to investigate and void suspicious referrals

7. User Content

Your Content

When you share reviews, thoughts, or other content ("User Content"), you retain ownership but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with our Service. This license continues until you delete the content or your account, after which we may retain anonymized versions for analytics purposes.

Content Standards

Your User Content must:

  • Be honest and reflect your genuine experience
  • Comply with applicable laws
  • Respect the rights of others
  • Not contain harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material

Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate, without prior notice.

8. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using our Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

You may receive push notifications about rewards, nearby coffee shops, and account activity. You can manage or disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

9. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party services (like Google Maps). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for third-party services or their policies.

When you redeem rewards that require shipping, we share your name and shipping address with the company selling the product ("Fulfillment Partner"). We place the order with them on your behalf to fulfill and ship your reward. Your information is shared solely for this purpose. We do not control the Fulfillment Partner's shipping or product quality and are not responsible for any issues with your order. Please refer to the Fulfillment Partner's policies for order-related questions.

10. Intellectual Property

Coffee Filtered and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by Coffee Filtered Limited and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks or copyrighted material without our written consent.

11. Service Availability

We strive to keep Coffee Filtered available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons.

12. Disclaimers

Coffee Filtered is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy of coffee shop information
  • The availability of specific rewards
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • The security of your data (though we implement reasonable measures)

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coffee Filtered Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed £100.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Coffee Filtered Limited harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or through our app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
